Enhance your Career Opportunities: Volunteer!!!
In 2000 the Ontario Ministry of Education introduced the Career
Studies Course as part of the grade 10 Ontario Curriculum. This is a
compulsory course for all grade 10 students in the Province of Ontario.
One of the expectations in the curriculum is that students identify a
broad range of options for present and future learnings, work and
community involvement.
United Way / Centraide Windsor - Essex County, in partnership with the
Greater Essex County District School Board received funding from the
Ontario Network - Canada Volunteerism Initiative for the development of
resources to be used in Grade 10 Career Studies Classes in Windsor -
Essex County
The goal of this resource is to enhance the capacity of grade 10
students to find volunteer opportunities in Windsor - Essex in order to
assist them to develop skills, gain work experience and explore career
options.
